The Story of Cirque
The doors of the Cirque cafe officially opened in 2016, but the ideas truly began flowing much earlier than that. It began with a mutual love of coffee, as founders Garrett O'Dell & John Pierce began brewing and experimenting with all kinds of different methods and coffees in their own kitchens. Once the idea of a cafe was thrown around, the real brainstorming began. Everything was intentional, from designing the custom espresso machine to handmade furniture.
On an origin trip to Brazil, Garrett and John met Christian Starry and Mario Melendez, two coffee farmers in Guatemala. They began cupping coffees together, and after a few days and more than 200 coffees tasted, they narrowed it down to the best. From there, Garrett just began mixing coffees on the cupping table, and with some trial and error, the Cirque signature Weirdo blend was born. We have been working with Christian and Mario ever since. You can find more information about their respective farms here.
If there's one thing we're about, it's showcasing high-quality coffee and service in a low-brow way. We love that Tulsa shares our appreciation for and love of coffee and has allowed us to open our unique app-based locations. We're committed to leaving things better than we found them, and that includes our coffee, our people, and our community. We're glad you're here. Have a look around, and stay weird.
